"Metallic materials have been around for thousands of years, yet we constantly learn more about them and their fascinating underlying physics, through the development and use of advanced characterization methods. In this talk, we will discuss how in-situ characterization techniques provide insights to design superior steels, titanium alloys, high-entropy alloys, for a wide range of applications, including automotive, aerospace, defense and beyond. A common theme in all of these investigations is sustainability, thus, we will also discuss novel strategies for making metals and metal processing greener."
